WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED?

Sin is man greatest problem.

All mankind has sinned. Sin has separated us from God – “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” – Rom. 3:23 

Path from Sinner to Saved 

– God sent his son

• John 3:16 – For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life
• 1 John 4:10 – In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

– Jesus shed his blood

• Ephesians 1:7 – In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace
• 1 Pet. 1:18-19 – Knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.

-Gospel is the Power to Save

• Rom. 1:16 – For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
• James 1:21 – Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. 

What Man Must Do

Hear the Gospel

• Romans 10:17 – So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
• Matthew 13:9 – He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”

Believe and Have Faith in God and Jesus

• Hebrews 11:6 – But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
• John 20:30-31 – And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

Repent of Your Sins

• Luke 13:3 – I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.
• Acts 17:30 – Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent,

Confess Jesus is the Son of God

Rom. 10:9-10 – that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Be Baptized for the Remission of Sins

• Acts 2:38 – Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
• Mark 16:16 – He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.

Live Faithfully

• Revelations 2:10 – … Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
• 10:22 – And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.
• 1 Cor. 15:58 – Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
